DVD Review; "DON'T SAY A WORD" Score B-
As far as kidnapping thrillers go this one fares pretty well. Michael Douglas is usually good in most of the films he is in, some better than others but overall he is consistent in delivering believable characters that serve the story he is in. In this he is a clinical psychologist asked by a colleague to help out with a teenage girl, the twist is that the girl has a secret and its about the location of a gem that a recently released set of criminals want back. So they kidnap the doctor's daughter to get him to get the information out of the girl. Basically this one runs the standard gamut of kidnap films with the defiant father, protective mother who wants to just call the cops, and the foreign accented villain calling the shots from a phone. The movie does keep you interested throughout most of it and there are the usual moments of "why did he do that!", or "couldn't he have just done xxxx" but thats the norm in films like this. Overall decent a film.
